flashback--By Peggy Dugan French--United States

flashback

dairy cows sauntering through fields
grain-filled silos shooting skyward
fields of corn rolling in the breeze
cats sipping milk in the weathered barn . . .

me

standing on the gravel road
breathing in this unspoiled life
bundling it up for later
past and present colliding

  10. Thanks Eleanor. My parents lived the rural life, I was just luck enough to be able to visit often and be enriched. Glad you enjoyed the piece.
