Pursuit
of Happiness
And
thus
it was
the tattered pillow
the worn-out mattress
of
my way of life
over
now with my dream-filled
oyster bed of promised pearls
gone forever
down
twisted garden path
through rich array of flowers
eases
my broken spirit
toughness of thick leather
over my tender hope
welcomed
light
slowly grows
from
dim to bright
as
I drift into
warm breath
of your caring
