An Autumn Afternoon--By Barbara Siekierski--United States

An Autumn Afternoon

The trees rustle
in the wind,
singing songs
to each other.

Their leaves fall
like a whisper,
begging me to play
tag with them.

The crickets
join the symphony,
bringing music
to my ears.

A sense of peace
only God can give
stays with me…
this autumn afternoon.

Barbara Siekierski is a writer from Swarthmore, PA.
