A Time to Sing--By Eleanor Michael--United States

A Time to Sing

Too shy to show
     her gift –
her “light,”
     she hid her voice
“under a bushel.”
     She always found
other things
     she needed to do
to help someone.

After a long life
     – too late –
she realized
     her gift was gone.
But she smiled
     when she died.
She heard a voice,
     “Now, you’ll sing
with the angels.”

Eleanor Michael has published poetry and short stories in a variety of venues.

  4. Dear Eleanor educating write in "A Time to Sing"
I believe this to be true about any talent. When I was
young I often tried to sing when I was alone My voice
was tuneless. Once my horse even tossed me in one
of my singing attempts. I loved the message in this
    poem.
