Summer Rain--By Maurice J. Reynolds--United States

Summer Rain

Dark clouds fill the sky,
the opening act for the
thunder and lightening
show waiting to take stage,
threatening all the fixings
of a fierce storm, until the
warm air and sparkling light
arrive with a change of plans,
ordering a gentle summer rain.

Maurice J. Reynolds is a freelance writer who has had material published in various publications. He is the owner of To God be the Glory! Publications, a literary ministry that produces the poetry publication Creative Inspirations.  More information can be found at:

  1. Nice work Maurice,
I loved the way it was building to be fierce
when warm air made the change to gentle.

  2. Enjoyed reading your poem. I could visualize the fierce storm you described, & the welcome change following! Nicely written. Hope all is well with you, & yours Maurice. God bless you! ~Chris~

  3. Pastor Maurice, I love this poem. It reminds me of summer days during my childhood. Thanks for good memories.
    Be Blessed,

  4. Truly enjoyed this poem! Sometimes these storms' roar is bigger than their bite! Regards & Blessings // paul
