Invitation--Michael Todd--United States

Invitation

Whispers in the wind:
Words and phrases, poetry laced;
Who has some to lend?

Join in, bring a friend;
Others here will share your taste,
As your voices blend.

This offer we extend,
Is sincere, not made in haste;
Stone carved, not a trend.

Read and comprehend;
Nary a post goes to waste;
I highly recommend.

Tie up a loose end;
Your efforts will be embraced,
Just around this bend.

  1. Dear Michael,

    I'm deeply touched by your words. Your poem is an extension of what I envisioned for Whispers when opening this online journal/poetry community. Thank you so much for this beautiful invitation.

    Blessings,
    Karen

    1. Thank you, Karen, for your very kind words... Whispers feels like home to me. I will never forget the first time I visited the site, because I was invited by Caroline Skanne, a contributor, and was just amazed at the format, and the quality of poems, as well as the writers.

      Best wishes from Tennessee, and as always, thanks for having me.

  2. Michael,
    Before Christopher brought it up, I didn't realize this was a bunch of haiku, or a form. Did you mean to write it that

    1. Yes, Sir, David... It is a sequenced series of rhyming haiku. I just got started and could not find a stopping place.
