Porcelain--By Darrell Herbert--United States

Porcelain

Bleeding
beneath

            perfect porcelain skin

screaming
            whirring
               dripping
                    machines

Rivulets nice down cheeks

The night         mare’s  steady              gait punctures the day

Dreaming of an end

                                                            to the   e n d l e s s

Crawling out, crawling
                                    up
                                                the
                                                            walls

Blinking under the bright fluorescent lights.
