Mother’s Day--By Lois Greene Stone--United States

Mother’s Day

I never realized
how much she taught me
until I was grown
and needed those lessons.
The mother I am
with my own children
is her example. The way
I show love and caring
is also because she gave
both without conditions.
But there’s a quiet ‘thanks’
for giving me life.

Lois Greene Stone, writer and poet, has been syndicated worldwide. Poetry and personal essays have been included in hard & softcover book anthologies. Collections of her personal items/ photos/ memorabilia are in major museums including twelve different divisions of The Smithsonian.

  2. Nice poem, Lois. Very touchable, I'm sure, for many of us in the lessons our mother's taught us. Precious memories. Thank you for sharing and continued blessings!
