In the Abyss…--By Eleanor Michael--United States

In the Abyss…

some days
     writing a poem
is like building
     a house
from a deck of cards
   in an earthquake zone –
as there’s no way
     it will come together
and stay

Eleanor Michael has published poetry and short stories in a variety of venues.

  1. I agree on the fact that at times it's really hard work! I enjoyed the simile you created, Eleanor! Beautiful image conveyed through your words!

  2. So true Eleanor, at times even harder than building a house, but it is
always worth it, to writers satisfaction.
