behind cupped hands
her whispers smile
in papa’s ear

Carl "Papa" Palmer, retired Army, retired FAA, now just plain retired, lives in University Place, Washington. He has seven chapbooks and a contest winning poem riding buses somewhere in Seattle. Carl has been nominated for the Micro Award and Pushcart Prize.

      I first posted "Townsville Truth." The rest of my
      time goes to playng pool as I own a pool league.

  10. Carl, all of my grandchildren have been fascinated by me whispering in their ears, telling them "you're the only one who can hear what I'm saying."
    You teach us that smiles can be private and wonderful.
