Golden Cage--By Blanca Alicia Garza--United States

Golden Cage

She felt like a trapped bird
in a golden cage, fed only
sorrow and precious stones;
orchids and roses were there
to say sorry until the next time.
But all she wanted was a little love.
The gleam in her eyes fade each day
the smile disappeared from her face.
Although hopeless, betrayed and with
a broken wing, she found the strength
to run from a prison of poisonous love.
And now, she is soaring once again...
embraced tightly by her other half...
an Angel with a broken wing as well.
Together, they fly into a smiling moon,
and dance to a sonnet of forever love.
