Haiku--By Madhuri Pillai--Australia

dog park
in between the gum trees
my old dog's shadow
_______________

balcony
a row of skylark
has nothing to say
_______________

withered rose
petal by petal
the years fade
_______________

startled 
into the trembling leaves
a magpie's flight 
_______________

Madhuri Pillai has been writing haiku and tanka on and off…  Her work has been published in various on line magazines. She has worked as a journalist, and is an animal activist. Semi-retired, she lives in Melbourne in Australia.
